No Laser Engraving.
Murdoch and Co. does not use laser engraving on its genuine products.
(Exception to this is any historical remanufactured item such as the EM-85 which used laser engraving.)Â
Our coat of arms and serial numbers are always engraved by hand or machine engraved and hand finished.Â
Engraving
Every Murdoch and Co. Product wears our coat of arms with pride.
For thousands of years craftsman and guilds have used permanent markings as a sign of their name forever attached to their work. Only recently are we used to cheap lasers and QR codes with no human attachment or accountability.Â
Here at Murdoch and Co. we are proud to mark our products with our coat of arms. This is our stamp of quality and approval. These timeless markings are an instant way for you to tell what you have in your hands.Â

Serial Numbers
Every Murdoch and Co. features a Serial Number.Â
Our serials do not need to include any unnecessary numbers and so to many this may seem to break convention. But quite the contrary; our products do not need to take up extra space or unnecessary markings and so our serials are simply the number. No extra 00 or letters before hand.

Locations of Markings
The Locations of our Coat of arms and serials may vary over time and by product.Â
Our serial numbers are always read in the same orientation as our coat of arms. This is because traditionally the coat of arms must always be up right.
Record Keeping
Murdoch and Co keeps both digital and handwritten records of every sale and serial. This insures a well documented legacy, investment and history for your product.
