During the Mid-2000s British troops using the L85a2 rifle and its standard flash hider found the flash signature was giving away their positions.

Thus all rifles were upgraded with a 4 prong flash eliminator.

The addition of the upgrade increased the survivability of British troops in firefights dramatically.

This refined and inspired piece is to pay homage to that urgent and essential operational requirement.

Now perfected and compatible with modern 1/2 – 28 thread muzzles.

This 4 prong design allows maximum barrel harmonic dissipation for reduced vibration, leading to quicker follow up shots and near elimination of muzzle flash.

In addition, just like the original, the No.4s design is also able to accept a British issue SA80 Bayonet.

A tool that is a cornerstone of the British infantry.

This collectors piece is now yours to continue on the look, sound and feel of the British Armed Forces.

Murdoch and Co. are aware many collectors also wish to fit their L3a1 bayonets to our No.80 and No.4 flash hiders.

Please note that our No.80 and No.4 are only compatible with genuine MOD L3A1 Bayonets and not counterfeits.

Genuine bayonets have a ribbed cast on the left hand side and do not have laser engraving. If in doubt please contact us and re will do our best to confirm if your bayonet is genuine.

Counterfeit bayonets will not fully seat as their internal dimensions are to small. Forcing these on to our products are dangerous and will damage your product.
